I wonder whether the will get an update and get new features?

I have found one app which is better than this.

Kind regards,

Wakaba/Kareha patches (107)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2009-10-22 16:08 ID:0RX4zZms [Del]

Wakaba and Kareha are refreshingly malleable, and I find it surprising that there isn't already a thread for all the "extras" can be patched onto a board, so here goes.

For the record, here are some existing patches on this board:

Just did these for a guy in another thread, but I might as well post them here to keep things organized

I do get this error when I click an approve link within the admin panel:

Ignore the line number, my copy is modded.

sub get_decoded_arrayref($)

That's the issue line.

No idea. Are you using SQLite or a regular mysql database? I've only tested this on SQLite. Also, did you try to run the actual patch on your modded wakaba.pl? That could very well be the issue.

104 Name: Anonymous : 2013-08-16 08:49 ID:sOmyVriI [Del]

The mod works, it just also throws that error into the error log. It's just MySQL.

What happended to this site? Everything I see here is so old :(

AND I have no clue about how to get kareha running.

106 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-16 15:20 ID:TmtafiOh [Del]

Wakaba is mostly mature at this point. There really isn't too much to do to Wakaba to make it a futaba channel clone so therefore, there really isn't much to discuss. I suppose it would be nice to update Wakaba and Kareha to make it HTML5 semantic.

Take the files from /mode_message (for textboard) or /mode_image (for imageboard, with threads that restart with 1) and put them in the main index.

The Unarchiver, part 2 (483)

1 Name: !WAHa.06x36 : 2011-08-31 12:54 ID:EvuKrlQD [Del]

As the previous thread filled up, here is part 2 of the The Unarchiver thread.

It is much better to post bugs on the bug tracker, rather than in this thread! Anything posted on the bug tracker has much less chance of being forgotten by me!

So, post bugs here: http://code.google.com/p/theunarchiver/issues/list

Also, remember that if you post a bug about a file that is not work, you must also post the file itself, or else there is nothing I can do about it!

Any plans to include .pae file extraction from the PowerArchiver software? Thanks!

I downloaded TheUnarchiver3.11.1_legacy.zip to install in an old resurrected MacBook running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
The Unarchiver will not run. It quickly appears in the dock and disappears.
Reviewing the Console, it seems The Unarchiver is not recognized as a 64 Bit Intel compatible app.

Any suggestions for remedying this problem? Thanks!

On 3.11.1, still getting "incomplete part"-problem on multi-rar-files.

I've tried other apps, where the same files works flawlessly. But I'd feel really bad about abandoning The Unarchiver now after all these years :/

On 3.11.1 and still getting "incomplete part"-problem with multi-rar-files, that work fines with other apps (but don't really want to abandon The Unarchiver :/ )

What version number should I select to use on Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard? I downloaded the version on the main page for older Macs and the program does not launch. I went through the archive of Unarchiver but wasnt sure what version number I should download. Thanks

MilkSnake is an updated version of my old game Swear. It is currently available only on the Mac App Store.

Web page: http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/games/milksnake

App store: http://itunes.apple.com/app/milksnake/id448050111?mt=12&ls=1

Feel free to report bugs or request things in here, although I can't guarantee I'll add much functionality to the basic game. I might perhaps make a sequel at some point, if there seems to be any demand for one.

There's a new version of MilkSnake out after all this time. I wonder why? How very mysterious!

Version 1.3 changes:

  • Fix broken rendering of Inverse Torus on some Macs
  • Update interface for Retina displays
  • Fix bugs in keyboard setup
  • Other small bugfixes

This thread is for all your simple questions about installing and running Wakaba or Kareha, that just require quick answers. Please don't create new threads for issues like that, post them in here instead.

Before posting, check that the question has not already been answered in this thread, or in the previous two threads:

Rotating banners (5)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2005-10-25 18:40 ID:+b6Ahn6w [Del]

So I noticed in the config.pl file, you can have rotating title images (title image = banner?). But all it says is to point TITLEIMG to a script. And I couldn't find anywhere anything about what said script should do. A friend thought that it's supposed to return the filename of the image, so I decided to set out to write a script to do so.

Then the problem is I don't know any Perl. So I had another friend who knows some Perl to help me out. Together we came up with the following:

#!/usr/bin/perl -w

sub getRandImage {

my $randomnumber = int(rand(6));
my $filename;
if ($randomnumber == 0){
$filename = 'banner1.gif';

Oh, by the way, this is in Wakaba. I don't know if Kareha has the same option, but I don't want to confuse you.

There's a thread somewhere over on 4-ch discussing this... Here we go: http://4-ch.net/tech/kareha.pl/1102969545/

I recommend http://4-ch.net/tech/kareha.pl/1102969545/6, of course.

Mac OS X screen savers (382)

1 Name: !WAHa.06x36 2005-06-16 19:23 ID:/DCn4yVC [Del]

Not to be confused with the Mac OS X widgets thread, this is the Mac OS X screen savers thread (this one's even more useless!).

So, way back in the day, I made some screen savers for the Amiga named "LotsaBlankers". Later on, I ported some of them to Windows, and created some new ones, but I never managed to make a stable and functional enough screen saver under Windows that I'd feel like releasing it. But now that I've got Mac OS X, I've started porting some of this old code over, since making screen savers for OS X is pretty easy and fun. First one I've got running is this one:

It's based on the work presented on this site, http://escherdroste.math.leidenuniv.nl/, and it is liable to BLOW YOUR MIND, MAAAAN. I've been too lazy to figure out how to make a preferences GUI for it yet, so even though the code supports all the possible different transformations of the image (Some listed here: http://escherdroste.math.leidenuniv.nl/index.php?menu=im&sub=escher), you can't actually pick which one you want yet.

Hey everyone: I have a 2012 MacBook Pro (non Retina version) and recently updated my OS X from Lion to Mavericks 10.9.5. Really don't want to update any further if possible (hate the UI changes these days...)

Anyway my favorite LotsaWater screensaver stopped working, so looking around I found this thread and info online saying it was fixed in the latest version, so great!

Downloaded it, installed, and... still broken :(

I saw where it says to fully-delete using AppCleaner SO I tried that next. Totally deleted, cleaned as far as I can tell. Re-downloaded latest version again, and... STILL doesn't work, same problem, can't capture screen image before it loads and only runs on BLACK screen.

Anyone have any other idea what I need to do, to get it working? Again this is NOT a multi-monitor computer, just a MacBook Pro with the normal simple laptop screen.

Thanks in advance for all help & ideas.

UPDATE: Okay, some more info... not sure what's going on here but apparently the newest version of LotsaWater DOES WORK on my MacBook, but only SOMETIMES.

It seems to capture the screenshot image okay when using "Preview" from the System Preferences screen saver panel, and also only SOMETIMES runs correctly (with screenshot) when I kick the screensaver into action using the HotCorner setting.

But depending on letting it just "time out" to activate, that only seems to show a black screen with the water effect, i.e. no screen capture. It may also have to do with what application I have running in the foreground (chrome browser?) that's maybe preventing the screen capture? Really not sure, what's goin' on here... any help?

379 Name: BlueCat : 2016-07-23 19:34 ID:zFhLOQ2N [Del]

UPDATE, AGAIN: I'm still trying to figure this out but apparently whatever application window is currently "foreground" or most-recently selected is affecting LotsaWater's ability to do the screen capture.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it fails and the water effect only runs against a black screen.

The difference is even sometimes apparently only as minor as which TAB of the System Preferences dialog box is selected (i.e. it works after pressing "preview" in the screen saver tab, but then switching to desktop wallpaper on that tab and activating the screensaver only results in black screen).

This is really weird, srsly LOL -- anyone have any idea what's goin' on with LotsaWater on my MacBook? Again this is running on Mavericks v.10.9.5

380 Name: Gooey : 2016-11-22 01:03 ID:KwGUorfI [Del]

I also have trouble with LotsaWater on Sierra 10.12.1.

Preview button in sysprefs works sometimes but mostly throws up a fogged screen beneath the ripple animation that has two buttons "switch user" or "cancel", while the hot corner activation pulls a black screen under the animation, and activating it on time, normally rather, does either of the inappropriate screen grabs.

381 Name: KB Ontario : 2016-12-07 21:14 ID:bxJOb/bB [Del]

I have lotsawarer 1.8 on Yosemite - no problem.

On another machine running Sierra I have version 1.7 and it works.

Mind you, 1.7 was installed probably back in Mavericks days, rather than fresh on Sierra.

I tried 1.8 on Sierra and it did NOT work.

Hope this helps.

382 Name: Vince : 2017-02-21 19:36 ID:lhDXsp14 [Del]

Too bad, on Sierra, the screen shot renders a black screen, while the preview works as expected...
Still, LotsAWater remains my favorite screen saver :)

Hope you'll fix the screenshot s***
