If the contents are "sage", don't bother creating an actual link. Seems people don't bother to mouse over and check what the link is when the vast majority of the time it leads to "mailto:sage".
Of course, you might want to come up with another indicator that the post was saged.
Whoops, maybe I was insufficiently clear. The purpose would be to draw emphasis to posts with genuine links in the link field.
"mailto:sage" is kind of traditional, though.
the only reason for having a link field at all is that it's the traditional place to put "sage". a "don't bump thread" checkbox could do the same thing and be less confusing to people who are new to this kind of board, but we're a bunch of elitists who favor tradition over functionality.

Plus fchan did that to their hackywakaba and we don't want to be like the furries.
I think >>5-6 summed up the issue quite succintly.
how about if someone puts aim:screename into the link field it shows as aim:screename rather than mailto:aim:Screename. it already removes mailto: if there is an http:// at the beginning of the URL but can it be adjusted for links that simply have www. without the http preceding it.
these questions and more on as my imageboard turns
You can add more protocols to the list by editing wakautils.pl
.
I think you'll notice that they work just fine, here. Maybe you need to update?
>>8aim:Screename
doesn't do anything. i think what you want is aim:goim?screenname=Screename
or aim:addBuddy?screenname=Screename
...

I'm completely updated to wakaba 3.0.7. Not working.
Tested the news: on iichan. Didn't work. Annnnnd neither does irc://.

So, it works in Kareha, but not in Wakaba. What is it, do you think, that makes ftp:// http:// https:// etc work but not the others?
I guess I must have forgotten to copy that piece of code over. Sigh.
There should be a similar regexp in wakaba.pl
that you can edit instead, then.
