Having visited this board numerous times and never before commented, I would now like to put forth the idea that The Society for the Study of Modern Image Board Culture functions more as a discussion board for software and for advertising new boards than is does as a board for discussing imageboard culture.
Does anyone have and idea why this is?

The thread page at http://wakaba.c3.cx/soc/kareha.pl/1100499906/ has an XML error in the page and both Firefox and Safari are all pissy about it and won't show the whole page.

When this website was first created there were active threads about modern imageboard culture. But as time past, there were less threads about actual culture and more with software and advertising new boards.

i would welcome a more serious approach in discussion on this topic. until that day comes, i will just lurk and wait. in the meanwhilke, any users dedicated to real discussion on this and other topics are more then welcome to drop a few lines on the rather young http://www.momo-shi.net --it is for the faint of heart but still we take the rules serious, i cant stand all this trollpack and useless posts. respect to the mods here, which at least try to keep it clean.

Those `Chan Ranking' buttons scare me. It's like seeing the 90s and modern imageboard culture combined into some horrible abomination that should not exist.

if this were an image board i'd have the opportunity to make an post an "image board webring" footer image, but see as this is a text board, i guess i should just float the idea and hope for ws in return. i will also promise ws to anyone who executes the idea

I noticed some of those a little while back and in pushed me away from post-2005 image board culture as a whole. Those black and green themed /i/ boards with 'affiliate' buttons on the bottom make me wanna cry.
