Just got hit by a spam bot (18)

Check it out: http://dongs.hadoken.net

Should I post the log too?

2 Name: Anonymous : 2006-05-12 10:24 ID:Heaven [Del]

Oh, and if it helps, the last line on rules.html used to say "child porn" instead of just "CP". That might be why I got hit.

Interesting...is this part of the domain fraud going on? Hard to combat that from this end.

Heh, it seems the bot also revealed a bug with Kareha's link formatting.

Is it really Wakaba's job to catch malformed links? I think let the poster beware is sufficient in this case.

>>6 Wakaba isn't made to link that.

wakaba is designed for humans, not dumb spambots.

No use posting logs, IPs will be coming from zombie machines anyway. When I find some time to finish Kareha 3.1.0, I'll try to port the new anti-spam stuff over to Wakaba too, that should help a bit.

And yeah, >>6, I was thinking of fixing that earlier, but I figured everybody's better off if spammers end up with broken links.

Eh, it also helps for newbies who mistakenly use HTML or BBcode in their posts.

>>11 How will they learn if they aren't made to look like a fool in public first?

Leave it.

Haha, another wave of spam posts.

14 Name: Anonymous : 2006-05-14 10:41 ID:Heaven [Del]

It seems the spammer learned from his first attempt that BBcode and HTML don't work.

Your HTML is not valid XHTML.

I know, but I have no clue how to fix it. :<
Maybe you'd like to help: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fdongs.hadoken.net%2Findex.html

I can also upload my templates.pl if you like.

There's a bug where Kareha doesn't discount deleted posts from its "omitted posts" counter. If the latest replies have all been deleted, it won't display any replies on the main page.

Not so much a bug as a consequence of how it works. It won't get fixed any time soon.
