apparently, there is a new kind of imageboard that is, to say the least, radical and unconventional in a way

http://www.bokusu.org/threads4.php

here's a sample thread:

http://www.bokusu.org/display3.php?threadid=91

any comments on this? this aint your ordinary imageboard.

You know, before buying a domain, maybe you should figure out if you've spelled it correctly.

I seem to recall someone working on something like this a number of years ago... did Albright have a prototype? I can't remember. Anyway, it seems a little hard to navigate.

I'm still trying to convince the author to make the code open source so that we can tinker with the code further.

also, if I have time, I'll help out in it's css. although primarily, it's only the site background and the post background that needs work. the borders look fine though.

futaba and burichan themes, anyone?

so does wakaba/kusaba, although bokusu uses moar JS than usual.

"Box" is "bokkusu".

10 Name: Anonymous : 2008-09-09 06:21 ID:Heaven [Del]

or "danbooru"

11 Name: Sui-seiseki!uW5xQSDMck : 2008-09-09 07:20 ID:b1k4HMiL [Del]

well whatever, still I do think the page needs some work though...

Aside from the CSS, me thinks the javascript should be a bit moar optimized. some threads make my firefox go slow sometimes.

also, perhaps post and image limits as well as autosage need be implemented? I doubt bokusu also needs thread expansion since it'll just make it more complicated and slow.

that aside, i still give my kudos to the author for making quite an interesting board.

still waiting for WaHa/Shii for their reviews though.

I've never needed JS to post nor read threads on wk/ka.

Who cares? The Japanese misspell everything in English, why not emulate them all the way?

Poor thing, all paranoid.

It's been updated, with multiple boards. The messy script files have been publicized. Can be reached at http://www.bokusu.org/source/

There was absolutely no need to do that. If you have something to say, say it, otherwise shut up.

Hi, it's been updated with a new threads page. Opinions?
Also, sui-seiseki, haven't heard from you since our last discussion. Still in for CSS redesign?

21 Name: Sui-seiseki!uW5xQSDMck : 2008-09-24 04:31 ID:b1k4HMiL [Del]

probably...

I'm trying to open the .src files and get to work but right now schedules and school are getting in my way. >_<

>share it.

Would you mind sharing it?

>i just got here and see the place is dead

I just got there and saw the place is dead.

Here. I fixed this for you.

Also: I've decided not to share the source anymore. Not that I'm a selfish asshole or anything, but really I am. You just want to reap the benefits of my efforts? Where were you when I needed help to develop this shit? That's right nowhere to be found...
"But I want to set my own board! ;_;" Thxman, but we already have a shitton of them! That's what bokusu is, despite the weird graphical interface which failed as fuck when it came to organize threads (yeah, that was the original intention), it's just an imageboard.

It's not cynicism, it's butthurtness.

Are you at all interested in continuing its development? I don't think it's "failed as fuck" in any way. If you are interested in continuing its development ever, I think only positive things can come from releasing the source. I'll even offer my own help, wherever I can.

I'm sorry to seem persistent, but I love the concept. It's innovative and interesting, and it's sure to catch the eye of an interested, talented development community.

Love,
Nataruu :3

I am developing a project for an easy to start, easy to use, feature filled web2.0 style image board named Ochan.

www.ochannel.org or code.google.com/p/ochan

I wasnt around to see what the noted imageboard could do, but, maybe you'll like some of the features I've tossed together.

I'm not sure but I think you just claimed a Java web app is easy to install?

33 Name: Anonymous : 2009-08-07 04:19 ID:j1RQmDwU [Del]

>>32

yep, I did. Ochan installs just by doing

java -jar Ochan.jar

and poof.. database, webserver, application.. all running. No dependencies other than a 1.6 compliant jvm.

34 Name: Anonymous : 2009-08-07 04:21 ID:j1RQmDwU [Del]

Oh, and also, there is a walkthrough video so you can see what Ochan does.
