Also, >>8, Wakaba doesn't have a simple way to make multiple boards because Futaba didn't, and I didn't feel like extending that, and also as a hint that you shouldn't be making fifteen boards on every site. There's no point in making yet another /a/ board. You're much better off making a small number (just one is good!) of unique boards.

Trevorchan makes it easy, and look how utterly redundant every board running on it is. This isn't just limited to image boards, either - look at how every fansubber forum, every anime fansite, every phpBB remotely related to anime has their own "general anime" board.

Japan has a really strong fan community because everybody posts on the same boards on 2ch. The west is fragmented and weak, because we balkanize our communities at every given moment.
