Hello~
I've been tasked to look into web 2.0 compliance tools (specifically a forum) for a business net presence, and currently i'm going for either wakaba, simple machines or phpBB.
Personally i'd like to use Wakaba/kareha because i'm the resident perl evangelist, but time is a factor for development of shiny new modules, so i'm wondering if anyone's made the following work:
Email response ; the dedicated mod gets emails instantly on anything being posted {yes. I know. don't ask.}, and can reply to the thread directly therein, we're thinking mobile phone hassling for said ubermod.
Post digests in email form: as in everything that was posted within normal business hours gets digested and emailed to those who get to make decisions.
and more to come as our requirements change drastically and without warning.
peripherally, can anyone point to examples of successful commercial forums in this vein?
I'm going to say probably not. Generally, imageboards reject the concept of web 2.0, since they were around long before it.
