I can't set up a font because it doesn't appear on the list.
"(In Firefox, set it up in Tools -> Options -> General -> Fonts & Colors -> Fonts for Japanese. Also set up your encoding (under View) to auto-detect Japanese)."
I'm trying to use Mona font which I downloaded earlier, but it doesn't appear on any of the lists for font changes. Where is the list for fonts on my computer so I can add it to the list?
This is so that I can view the ASCII properly on 4-ch.net
What OS are you using?
Windows XP
They usually should be in C:\WINDOWS\Fonts
If the font didn't get recognized automatically, you might want to go to the control panel, then right-click on "Fonts", open, and in the explorer window that opens up then go to "File" and select "Install new font...", then manually select the mona font where ever you had previously unzipped it to.
Hope this helps.
I have the same problem. I'm using Linux (Debian Sarge-based) and Firefox. Doing apt-get intstall xfonts-mona
installs version 2.21-3 but nothing Mona-like shows up in Firefox's fonts list.

This probably isn't the "correct" way to do it, but it worked for me:
Grab the ttf version from here... http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=55807
(eg: monafont-ttf-2.90.zip
) ...and then unzip it.
mkdir /usr/share/fonts/truetype/mona
cp mona.ttf /usr/share/fonts/truetype/mona/
fc-cache -v
Sweet, it works. Thanks for the help!
Thanks, >>6. It worked exactly as expected. It's just a shame that the deb supposed to install it didn't.
Here is a deb http://utyuuzin.net/debian/lab/ttf-mona_2.90-0.1_all.deb
