just wondering if this could be incorporated as an option: instead of pictures being deleted they get moved to an /archive/ directory instead.
you'd need extra config options for this i'd guess (ie. max archive size and so on) but it'd be very usefull
especially as imageboards use insane levels of bandwidth but hardly any diskpace, meaning this feature would be viable on most hosting plans
I've been thinking this would be nice myself, too. I'll put it on the list.
Needs the same for 1000GET threads on Kareha :D
Someone suggested that we torrent images once they expired off the board at the last 4chan Q&A thingy. There's no way that that wouldn't kill our server, but if the archive support moved things into /kako-year-month-week/ or something it would be a good start at it.
Charging for copyrighted artwork might just be a little bit shaky legally, no?
75+% of all business done is a little bit shaky legally.
Some ideas for what automated archiving in Kareha should be based on:
If an automatic archive feature ever gets implemented, there probably should also be an auto-prune feature for Kareha...
Or am I mistaken and confused and such a thing already exists?
