2ch Board Style (7)

I have encountered quite a number of people who tell me that 2ch style boards confuse them or they just plain don't like them.

Other times, people just want a full-fledged PHPBB forum with lots of sub-forums, even though a simple text board would suffice to service a small community of maybe a dozen people.

Sometimes I feel like I'm wrong and they're right. Like 2ch style text boards are just a novelty and not for any sort of serious community.

People nowadays want flashy websites, with a lot of useless features, and of top of all: show their names. Show themselves. They just care about the looks, and not the content.

I've heard that, too.

I like how people say that this style of board is somehow confusing, and yet these same people post on all those PHP boards that have 10% post content and 90% extra crap around it like little bar charts and stars and statuses and buttons around every single post for ten different ways to contact the person and eight different social networks.

Basically I came to the conclusion a couple years back that these people are by and large idiots, drawn to shiny colors, and they'll come up with whatever non-sequitur reason they can to say why something that's not shiny and obnoxious is somehow bad.

Don't forget the post count!

I think that 2ch style boards should adopt a post count so I know who to support in an argument.

If you're being serious, which I hope you aren't, you have entirely missed the point of this type of board.

I think it was quite obvious that he was being fascetious.
