And the world rejoices.
Also, sorry if I'm late to the celebrations. Feel free to sage if I am.

From wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imageboard#Software (in kusaba's paragraph)):

>The creator has recently stated that he intends on discontinuing the project in favor of a separate imageboard project.

Apparently Trevor decided to ditch kusaba in favor of pyIB.

>Apparently Trevor decided to ditch kusaba in favor of pyIB.

I guess I've had the wrong idea about Tee then. I wish him the best of luck.

How is this apparent? I don't see that written anywhere. Unless you're being funny.

I don't know if I could ditch a project after working on it for so long, even if it sucked.

Thanks bro

Hopefully pyIB will be better than Kusaba.
Luck wishings and whatnot.

hi,
is there a mirror of the kusaba.zip archive, version 1.0.4?

GJ, it's an empty SVN repository.

The site's gone, so Trevor doesn't want people to use Kusaba anymore.

yes, i have seen it,
but i found a copy on my harddrive...

Abandoning the software isn't a good thing to do. Too many sites use it to pretend like it never existed.

Agreed. After pushing it for so long and getting so many people to use it, it seems kind of shitty to take away their only support resource, especially since the Python board isn't even available functionally yet...

I personally loathed KusaTrevorSabaChan, but he could at least have left the documentation online for people who use it.

Perhaps a better move might have been to just release pyIB under the kusaba name and note that the script was re-written in Python and doesn't include a majority of kusaba's bloat features.

But still, I think Trevor probably just wants to put kusaba behind him due to the fact a large amount of imageboard users denounce running any version of kusaba at all, albeit rightfully but still.

Agreed.

Wow, I should make something like that, so my friends and I can talk about anime.

i know that this is a little off topic but i was just starting to put together a chan board with kusaba when the site went down.i have both the latest release of kusaba and kareha dowloaded though and i need to know which would be best to use by someone who fails hard at programming? ( i.e: the most idiot proof )

the ability to have different word filters and ban messages per board will be basic requirements based on the design my friends and i have in mind as well. i know you can do that in kusaba but can you do it in kareha as well?

also, only referencing 22 because i thought all that info was lost. many internets to you for finding it again ^^

Kareha or GTFO!

25 Name: Anonymous : 2008-08-29 14:16 ID:Heaven [Del]

God only knows why people still want to use Kusaba, when there are much better alternatives available.

That's no excuse. Though I wouldn't suggest futaba or futallaby, anyone with minuscule PHP knowledge can make it do what they want.

OH GOD NO

I liked kusaba. Fuck copying files.

Yeah, better to have 50,000 empty, unloved boards appear automagically at your fingertips.

I created a site just for development of kusaba 2 and beyond.

You know Serv, it would help to learn how to code before you add more bloated, poorly coded, unnecessary features.

Sounds like a perfect fit for Kusaba!
