ID hashes ending in "0" (4)

Looking at the 0ch test board, I notice that ID hashesare now appended with a zero (0), even in sage posts. Is this just another cultural in-joke, or does it serve a real purpose?

Sorry for the 5 year old bump, but I'll reply to this in case anyone autistic enough is interested.

In 2ch IDs end with either 0 (zero), O (upper case o), o (lowercase o), I, i, Q or P.

  • 0 (zero): Means the post was made from the normal website, usually from a PC.
  • O (uppercase o): The post was made from the mobile/cellphone version.
  • o (lowercase o): Posted from a Willcom device.
  • I/i: Posted from an iPhone
  • P: Posted from http://p2.2ch.net/ (guys with accounts)
  • Q: Made from ibisBrowserDX I think, not sure about this one.

Note that not every board has this enabled. You can know it's enabled if the ID is 9 characters long, not 8. So far I've seen this only in the VIP boards.
