This place.

It reminds the Misago Bay. It is a Russian landscape, beautiful...

And this is a village that used to be near the Aral Sea... an ocean that is dying.

Sadly, but there are lot of such landscapes in modern Russia... Times of strife and suffer.

The town is eerily like the abandoned towns on the Muira Peninsula that Alpha rides through, except without the susuki, vines & bramble festooning the poles and wires.

And it's a sad image, without the strangely carefree atmosphere of YKK. Stories of 'the world with fewer people' are a bit of a guilty pleasure with me - I get to indulge in a hope for a recovering, changing, more peaceful planet, yet at what cost to human life? Mara and Dann, excellent book by Doris Lessing, shows Africa five thousand years from now in a similar light.

Thanks for these images -

Reply to "This place."
Would you have any links by any chance, terry? Well... if there is any place that has the mood of a forsaken library (seen when Kokone visits one) that is this place... Mt. Loretto´s Girl Orphanage, burned many years ago...

Recently a friend has shown me a video that included an artillary post in Cranford, NJ that remarkably resembled a hot spot in YKK.

It was a post that looked just like Alpha and Sensei's favorite vista point for looking into the lit city underwater while sitting on a larger concrete circle. Oddly enough, the lamp posts in this NJ location also resembled the organic light posts occassionally noted in the YKK series.

Would anyone happen to know the location or have any pictures of this cannon/fort vista point in Cranford, NJ? I guess it'd be a primo filming location for a live-action.
