YKK Forum

so how much intrest do you think a forum can generate......

.......when many people only come to this site once a month?

well it's the usual "omg thank you for translating this wonderful manga blah blah blah" sort of message i already sent in an email before..........so um *test*

(no bugs so far?)

True. I only come here once a month when I get the e-mail saying that one of my most favoritest mangas has a new chapter, so it would make for some very long delays in replies on the forum...

On the other hand, that kind of lazy "I'll reply to it when I get around to it" is reflective of the manga that we all love. It takes it's time and good things result from that patience.

I love it!

some email service to know when it updates? I don't like that kinda thing. heh, I guess I think it's more fun to just come around a little now and then. if there arent any new I can read an old chapter. they're all still really nice to read and you can notice things you didn't see before. ^^

YKK was first mentioned in an English language zine many years ago (what happened to EX?) but the interest in YKK is now appearing many places, in news:rec.arts.anime.misc, news:de.alt.anime, news:rec.arts.manga and many, many other places.

In fact it seems the old Zeitgeist is coming around. This, and since a Google for YKK brings people here, I believe tis place will see a steady increase in traffic.

I subscribe to the rss feed that tells me every time someone posts a new message and I read almost all of them.

I never subscribed to the mailing list as I assumed it was inactive. All updates now being at cafealpha.org, and the original owner of this site being absent for almost a year now (as far as I know).

I do like this forum being here, it has helped me understand some of the nuances of YKK that I otherwise would have missed. And for a manga that is this deep and meaningful to me, that is a huge help!

Plus, I have met some really cool people here that I had never known before. ^_^

I really like forum boards, although I have to say I am much more fond of phpbb type setups than this one. I don't have as much control over my posts here (like no edit ability for typos).

I have seen many interesting discussions, aspects revealed, great pics, and viewpoints of YKK since finding this forum.

Also puzzling questions answered by people who can apparently keep every frame in memory.

And for a person new to YKK, it's a treasure trove.

So, no, it's not just a once-a-month, get-the-scanslation and-run sort of thing.

I'm not sure how much interest this particular forum has generated, but the "Contents" section has made this manga very well known to the anime/manga community. F'rinstance, if someone compares a manga or anime to "YKK", nobody ever replies with "Huh? The zipper manufacturing company?" ^_^

I too enjoy the pace of the forum. Perhaps not having to respond to topics quickly has made the replies more thoughtful.

this forum seem to really grow with Question, Answer, clue, tip, and most of all, items that are seen in the manga that is wanted in real life. one example of that is that one about the glasses. another one is the gun. seem kinda funny to see the forum grow to such a large size.

i wonder what would happen if the orginal owners of this web page come back and is surprise to see the growth of his site. i bet he prob has many hits since then.

True. Also notice, the question that started this very thread was first asked two and a half years ago...

Mmm.. I actually visited this forum quite often. And it's not because of just finding YKK's latest release either. I'm here to do something like 'surveying' others' way of thinking. Since I can't work in the future well without doing this.(This place seems like a good place for doing this.)

Oh, and Im going to work in a manga publishing industry. Hopely. ^_^
