Ever since the death of /b/ around 2008 4chan culture has slowly been decentralizing and evolving in different directions, with each board developing its own niche culture and memes. moot flat out admitted the "one big 4chan family" vision has failed, and that 4chan is now a site for people with very specific hobbies instead of a general "fuck around on the internet" zone.
