you may want to check out tinybb3's json interface... it's compatible with world4ch's json interface, but also provides the list of threads in json format. that way you don't have to muck around with parsing subject.txt (which tinybb3 also provides, for backwards compatibility with shiichan).
one of my main goals in creating tinybb3 was to make it so that different interfaces to the board (html, json, atom (per-thread feeds), gopher) could be easily added or removed.
