Imageboard Culture Shift (21)

It bothers me that imageboards are no longer about discussion, but are based strictly on memes. Worst Offenders of that are 7chan and 711chan. For fucks sake, 711chan's FAQ consists of nothing but "Q: Licking on a Cock A:1) U GRIP IT 2) U KISS IT"

Hell 4chan is absolutely horrible, but at least moot keeps the website professional looking. Although he can't prevent /b/ from being retards like they always are, he atleasts makes sure that memes don't interfere with the rest of the site (I'm talking about the front page + faq + rules, etc. not boards)

420chan and iichan are the only imageboards I even visit nowadays. 420chan is a real laid back place, but I hate how they are pretty much trying to capitalize it by putting "taima" bullshit on everything. Taimaba software, Taimapedia, "Taimalabs". It's just stupid. Although I will say 420chan has an awesome userbase, and the people there are more into discussion rather then retarded memes 24/7.

iichan is pretty cool. I love how it has the classic pre-2008 imageboard look to it. An HTML written Frameset, Futaba theme, very simplistic design and it looks cool. Has plenty of interesting boards as well (which most are hosted on other sites), so the userbase is very diverse.. To bad it's barely active.

This is the main reason I hate kusaba/trevorchan. Not because it's written in PHP, but because it seems that since kusaba was the easiest software to install, people just figured they could make whatever retarded chan they wanted. Since basically no effort is put into most kusaba installments a lot of people just joke around with it.

Also: I apologize for typing so much.. I'm on stimulants right now, and I can just type for hours about the same subject without getting bored..
