Tripcode test cases and implementation compatibility (33)

I recall when I was writing Thorn (for which I am still deeply, sincerely sorry and hope you can all find it within yourselves to forgive me), it took a couple of passes to get the tripcode computing functionality working correctly, and I don't know if I ever really did nail it 100% in the end. Well, I'm planning on writing a tripcode encoder again, this time for the Drupal CMS, after my proposal to do so received some mild positive feedback, and I'd like to get it right this time.

But what's right? The original intent of this post was to ask if anyone knew of any tripcode test cases - keys and computed hashes which I could test the output of my algorithm against. But then I found this list, which seems to be what I'm looking for. But I also found this tripcode generator which claims to create "4-ch, 4chan-style tripcode from a password," and it produces different results for many of those keys. So how accurately does that generator match 4chan's tripcode creation - or, rather, how inaccurately does 4chan match 2ch's tripcode creation? Which target should I aim for?
