Theres been talk of an anonination project on 7chan, and later 78 and 99chan.It is one of few threads in the projects board that has survived every site transition with anything resembling a dedicated following.Watching it has been very interesting. Simply put, the various threads on the topic have reached the conclusion that the average Chan user has developed a quite cynical view of the world and society in general. And the old Anmonymous pride resurfaces here and there. People think they can do the world and themselves better. This project is however the first attempt at a positively constructive effort undertaken by the group that has managed not to offend self proclaimed sensibilities. The motivations are purely selfish. But the idea in of itself is exciting to no end.

What does this mean for imageboard culture in general? Is it a new dawn or a new darkness?
