What I never understood was why 4chan adopted a grow, grow, grow policy? If you're having difficulty funding a site, making it larger is unlikely to help. The dot-com era ended five years ago.
So they go on a donation drive, promise it'll keep 4chan going... then apparently splurge it instead of adopting a conservative policy. A bandwidth capacity of 60Mbits? Why? Get a decent QoS and let the lower speeds serve as a demand limiter.
Are they attempting to grow it so large that advertisers would come? Or increase the value of the domain name? Someone enlighten me?
