YKK Fan Sites

I've been truely enjoying this wonderful series and this site. Because of this I've been inspired to add a section to my site devoted entirely to YKK. And while I am still working on the YKK section this got me wondering if there were any other English fan sites devoted to YKK. Does anyone know of any sites outside of the two discussion groups mentioned in the links section for YKK?

I have looked and looked, and haven't found any, but I was wondering: what is the URL of yours? I would love to see it.

I'm still in the developmetal stages of the site. It's been a while since I updated the thing so it's taking a bit of time to work on it. But once I get the changes to the site made and uploaded I'll post the address.

Howdy,

Looking forward to seeing your site. I have two suggestions. First, to provide links to places where visitors can buy the manga. Second, to indicate that copyright of YKK belongs to Ashinano Hitoshi.

Best,

Dave

I'll certainally do that. Plus I'll definately have links back to this site and to a Usenet image site I found. It's not going to be the fanciest looking site on the block but it'll definately have some decent information and a collection of some of the theories on the series I seen pop up here.

I run a Misago fanlisting. Not that exciting, I know: http://hekima.lionking.org/misago

Someone else is apparently working on one for the whole manga, but it's not finished yet.

I just got to thinking outside of the links someone mentioned and the obvious list of characters in the story and a description about the series what else would people like to see in a fan site.

Hmmm... a wish list. How about:

Information on the videos
Where to buy the videos
Where to get translations/fan subs of the videos

Links to fan art and Japanese fan sites (from earlier threads in the forum)
Fan art gallery

Reviews of or essays about the story
The translation of the interview with the author posted earlier in this forum.

A scan of a topographical map of Alpha's neighborhood with the new shoreline drawn over it (okay, that is asking too much...).

Wallpaper or links to wallpaper.

My suggestion, if you want to make original content, is to create a timeline. Let us just say that the first chapter takes place in year zero of YKK, then map out the following chapters in time. I haven't checked but I wonder if the series proceeds at one year per year.

I believe a Japanese website does this but I was unable to understand that site fully. Sorry, I don't have the link anymore.

An annotated map would go nicely with such a timeline.

Wow. Now there's a shocking picture. It hits a little too close to home for someone that holds Alpha near and dear to his heart.

I wonder what was the fan story about.

Babel fish translates it poorly, something about people returning from a space battle?

Thanks,
I've got several half-written reviews & other updates that need finishing off. Good luck with your site. The more the better. I'd suggest submitting it to the Anime Web Turnpike, -
http://www.anipike.com/
- which is one of the best resources on the Web for anime & manga fans. It only lists two YKK sites at the moment which is not enough for such a great series!
