- SOLVE THIS RIDDLE!

Even though I love every chapter, choosing a favourite isn't very hard.

Chapter 100. Two People.
http://ykk.misago.org/Afternoon2002/160
Colour chapter. No dialogue. Very touching encounter.

I was a little upset/disapointed that Volume10 ends with c99. ^_^;; Arrg... When in v11 coming out?

If you ask me, I think that c100 was meant to be the last chapter of the series. That is obviously not the case. But if you look at every chapter since it's release, the chapters are starting new storylines/threads that will take a few chapters to work through. As if the series was given an extention. Could it be that we were almost cut off?

When the series does come to an end, I hope it will be as subtle and moving as c100. Although I secretly hope against hope that Owner will return, I don't think his/her return would be as satisfying as we imagine.

Chapter 22 Yokosuka Cruise
Alpha, who has knows there used to be more people around, sees the abandoned homes and bare foundations every day, and might even be able to cite statistics, realizes on a gut level how much has been lost when the lights in the bay presents her with an illusion of a full and living city. Alpha the robot, grieving for "So many...", comforted by the aging Sensei. This chapter was an emotional ambush, I just did not see it coming the first time I read it, and is a prime example of the raw emotional beauty that is throughout the series.
Chapter 3 Rumbles of Thunder
The most violence and conflict in the whole first volume!! Alpha kicks out a stuck shutter when she gets frustrated trying to open it to "let in the gentle morning sunshine and sweet birdsong" and then haggles over how many melons she is going to receive from Ojisajn (she wants three, he wants to give her the whole trailer; if your neighbor grows zucchini you have had similar experiences)

"Short Essay" at the end of Vol 4 is my favorite, uh... hunk of YKK. ^_^ It's not really a chapter, but hey who can be uptight talking about Alpha?

Maybe because it was the first bit of this YYK that I found in my Internet wanderings that makes this more special to me... still, I love to imagine her playing a song for me at the end of the day, down by the ocean.

Chapter 98 -- Things That Fly

I enjoy the Makki/Ayase/Kamas stories and this chapter adds a little something extra to the triangle. Makki's expression is something to behold when Ayase lets the cat out of the bag, and the last frame in the chapter sums it all up.

Would have to say Crimson Mountain.

Don't really know why I like this chapter so much.
It's just... Argh! Anyway, I love it. ^_^

I hope you have the Art book. Chapter 61, Crimson Mountain, is reprinted in it, on nice big pages (8 1/4" x 11 3/4" or 21 x 30 cm).

i like the chapter when Alpha goes to see the lights that light up the sea, i can only imagine what it's like. The idea of it somehow leaves a nice warm feeling.

"Yokosuka Cruise" and "Sea Current" -- like Kurt said, I was emotionally sandbagged by both of these.

Also "Crimson Mountain" for saying the most without any dialog.

Honorable mention to the middle frame of p. 64 of "Indigo Eye." What an expression.
