Ykk OAV

I downloaded two episodes of the Ykk Oav online and was wondering if there is more than two episodes in the OAV?

There are two OVA episodes from 1999, simply called "Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou", and there are two more OVA episodes from 2002/03 called "Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: Quiet Country Cafe".

I actually just ripped the two Quiet Country Cafe DVDs to reburn because my DVD player doesn't play region 2.

I was considering doing a fan DUB of the episodes. Does anyone here have any experience with that? I thought it would be fun to do and then show it our our con.

Both OAVs are already subbed and they're available as Bittorrent downloads

First OAV (in the Mini Series section)

Second OAV

I just watched an untranslated version of the second OAV (OVA?). Fortunately, YKK doesn't require a whole lot of translation. I have to say that I thought the second OAV was a lot cleaner, and a little slower. The first one was sort of energetic and made Alpha seem sort of ditzy and innocent. The second one made her seem more lonely and wiser.

Also, the second one really play a lot more to her senuality. I guess, I'll have to download the second OVA fansub as soon as there is a seed for it and see what everyone was saying.

The animation was way better on the first, although there were un-animated filler pieces. The backgrounds were far better too, and closer to the manga. The second OVA was very simplistic; considering how elaborate the backgrounds are in the manga, it detracted a lot. I far prefer the first.

G'Day,

I don't think I can use BitTorrent on my system (I run a Debian box, so my software is always going to be quite a bit behind the times), so I was wondering if anyone knows an ftp or http server that hosts either or both of these anime? I think it could be interesting to check out :)

Head over to http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html
they have a couple prebuilt packages for Debian.

Getting back on track...I just had my R2 DVD of the first OAV arrive. Very nice, and the DVD itself is quite attractive - once you pay attention!

On the subject of fan-dubs, though, this is something my wife and I have discussed many a time. Your best bet for resources would be the fanfic radio play project.
