I had to share this site for a non-profit org that lets you travel and live on a Japanese organic farm for free (days, weeks, years, your choice). The only condition looks like a registration fee and about 4-6 hours of farmwork on the weekdays. Practically an exchange program, and I did notice a few cafes in there, too.

Interesting. That's no tourist trip, no siree. If I wasn't expected to excell in college and if I had an extra 10 years to spend, I'd try that. :D

Seems pretty cool, actually. Looking at the places, I dont' think I'd personally want to be on one of the dedicated farms, but it'd be cool to work at a temple, or a ryokan.
I wonder if any coffeehouses are looking for help...........
