Missing Chapters

As you may know, our host appears to be unavailable and unable to continue posting episodes. We all hope that he will return as soon as possible.

In the meantime, many people here in the forum volunteered to help out. Recent episodes are currently available at:
http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~katng/YKK/

Martialstax sent me chapters 124, 126, and 128. I scanned them and forwarded the scans to dDave for translation. The new episodes should be posted on the web soon.

I got a subscription to Afternoon, but it will be some time before I start receiving the monthly issues. We need the missing chapters.

Is there anyone in the forum with the following issues of Afternoon?

Chapters we need:

Chapter 123 November (11) 2004
Chapter 125 January (01) 2005
Chapter 127 March (03) 2005
Chapter 129 May (05) 2005

If you have these issues of Afternoon, please speak up.

Thanks to everyone for the effort.

I still forlornly check the "contents" page here first before going to the forum.

I hate that I missed so many chapters recently. I check Kinkoniya at least weekly, and almost daily when the new issues of Afternoon come out. Chapter 129 should be on the shelves in a week or so. I'll let you know if I get it. If I do, I'll send it to you.

I guess I should go ahead and spring for the subscription, but I've always been able to get the issues with no problems before, and they demand the subscription be paid in advance.

If you guys end up need another place to put it tell me, got a place just sitting there with 2 gigs of space and 5 gig of bandwidth a day that I'm barely using.

Just email me if you need a place and takes like 5 mins to set up you guys a subdomain at gentlerainofserenity.com or shadonwcontinuum.com and ftp access.

Martialstax:
Don't worry about the subscription. I signed up for one through Sasuga.

Miah:
Thanks, I am sure that dDave will take you up on your offer if there are any problems with the current location.

On behalf of the rest of us -- thank you. I have missed regular updates so, so much.

A couple of requests/suggestions. Firstly, a zip file of each chapter. Secondly, have you thought about continuing the page-numbering system that our host was using?

Best of luck finding the missing chapters. And thanks again

Loran, I'm going to get a subscription anyway. YKK is the main reason I get Afternoon, but not the only one. Also, if I miss a chapter, then I have to wait for it to be posted, and that's no fun.

Yay for new chapters! I've emailed dDave about how they're coming along, but I wanted to reply to this too. (I'm excited ^_^)

I've found a store near where I live (in Southern California) that carries Afternoon. Whether it has back-issues or not remains to be seen, but hopefully I can ask a family friend to ask the store if they have the issues we need. Loran, you mentioned the May '05 issue as one of the issues. Is it published so early?

James:
About the page numbering system, I didn't really spend that much time with the HTML for the pages, and actually, if you take a look, the scanned pages don't have the numbers on them. If dDave gives me the numbers for each page, I'll set up the numbering system again.

I have zipped the files, but to upload them to the current webspace would take up too much space. I only get 5 MB of storage space on www.bol.ucla.edu, so it's going to get tight soon with new chapters to edit (yay!). ^_^

We might have to mirror/link the chapters from another site, or move the temporary site completely. I'm not sure what dDave plans to do with that, though. (Maybe we can take advantage of Miah's generous offer!)

Carn:
I just figured the May issue may come out before my subscription kicked in. If that happens, I may be able to get a copy at the local bookstore. Then again, maybe not. I listed May because it is uncertain.

I can offer some web space too. Though I'd rather only put up zip archives than seperate images.

If you are needing webspace and bandwidth, I would be more then willing to offer some room on my website (tabyk.net).

I am currently paying for 3GB of disk space and 25GB of bandwidth on a monthly basis, and am using very little of it (my site takes less then 400MB of space, and I seem to bounce between 1 and 2GB in traffic). Also, I can setup subdomains and FTP accounts without hassle.

I'd offer translation services, but I barely speak 20 words of the language... and only that much because of my 2 recent vacation trips to Tokyo.

Let me know. *smile*

I just picked up chapter 129 (May 2005 issue). I'll mail it out to you soon. You'll forgive me, but I'm keeping the variant white image cover for Ah! My Goddess Complete Collection #1. I'm also keeping the Hiroyuki Utatane foldout of Attim M-Zak from Seraphic Feather.

Just to whet everyone's appetite, chapter 129 is titled "solo". It's all about Kokone and her scooter. First she's seen talking to a mechanic, and then the rest of the chapter is just her riding it. I'll have to dig out my Kanji dictionary, but I believe she's talking about how much she loves riding, and how grateful she is to Alpha for introducing her to riding. At least that's what I think it's about.

This is one chapter I look forward to seeing scanned and posted, just because there is one image of Kokone on her scooter that I've fallen in love with. You're looking at her from below and behind with the image rotated just a bit to one side. She's stopped and looking back over her shoulder at the reader with a wonderful little smile on her face. Beautiful. By the way, I'm loving the way Ashinano is drawing Kokone these days.

Thanks Mike!
I am looking forward to scanning this.

I think I like Kokone best.

I keep going from Alpha to Maruko to Kokone to Alpha to Maruko to Kokone. It seems like whoever just had a chapter about them, that's the one I like best.
