I found this afternoon a copy of "Physics" by Gontiti. Very nice album.
I was kind of surprised to see that it was recorded in 1985, more than ten years before YKK. For some reason, I thought they were just an amateur, one-shot kind of band. Just laziness on my part, because they're quite successful and STILL together. I went to their website (http://www.gontiti.jp/index2.html) and learned the true story. Very fascinating.
Interesting, too, that their discography does not mention their YKK work at all (at least I didn't see it)...I mean, they did ALL the music for both series.
With a bit more research I might be able to determine if the YKK soundtracks are orignial work by Gontiti or a collection of previously released tracks.

Interesting that they see the project as "a Hekiru Shiina album."
I wonder if they ever saw the series?
