Hi Neil
Yeah, I should mail this to you directly, but I believe that some people here have the same questions. So I ask in "public".
I love YKK and I'm really grateful for misago.org, so I'm trying to promote YKK as much as I can. But there is a problem.
Sometimes, I'm discussing something in some forum and think "Hey, they really should know about YKK...", but I don't post a link to misago.org. Why? Because sometimes the forum is just too big. I don't want to unleash 1000 or 10000 new users at a private site, since it could cause big trouble and may destroy everything. (Most hosting services are charging insane fees if you break your traffic quota...)
On the other hand, I know we can't donate money... but what about webspace and traffic?
That makes three questions:
1. How much traffic does misago.org have? (And what is causing the main traffic? The images or the archives?)
2. How much traffic can you stand without any "inconveniences"?
3. Can we help you with hosting? I'm able to donate up to 100 MB webspace and 10 GB monthly traffic. We're not talking about a mirror site, just offsite hosting. Simply place some of the zip archives at my site and change the link. No one will notice, but you'll have less traffic...
So how about it?

I'd say give it a go! We could use all the fans we can get. ^_^ . Can't regulate word of mouth.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to set up a bittorent distro here, which would make it easier on the webhost.

I wouldn't mind donating a few KB/s as a seed.

You guys are talking about the volumes of manga, right?
Hmm..my upload speed at school is super fast, so I wouldn't mind seeding. It's just a matter for when and for how long. ^_^ I mean, I often leave my computer on for days when I'm downloading stuff, but not always.
