Watching the sunset at Yokosuka has a big effect on Alpha doesn't it? We've seen it three times so far, four if you count the anime ;)
If you want to go back and see, it's chapters 22, 48 and of course 120. Did I miss any?
And the voice.. it will be interesting to see how the "made of scents and sounds" thing develops. I wonder if Kokone has been to Yokosuka.

There's a bit in Kokone's voiceover at the end of the title sequence of the second set of OVAs where she says "Alpha-san, we're made up of sounds and scents, and I'm not being figurative."

A beautiful chapter. Thanks for posting it. I always enjoy the chapters when Alpha and/or Kokone are out and about on their scooters. When I'm riding my motorcycle, especially if it's a pleasure ride, I find my mind wandering to places it would never go on it's own. Ashinano does a wonderful job of expressing that feeling.
Oh, and that image of Alpha in the top left panel of page 122 is gorgeous.

From the news page:
"In other unfortunate news, I'm missing the July issue of Afternoon. If anyone has a copy that they can scan, please let me know. Thanks!"
Loran, if you've still got the copies of Afternoon I sent you, can you just send them to Neal? Thanks.

I wonder if Alpha was born in Yokosuka?
Sensei seemed to know Alpha would be there, at the overlook to Yokosuka, in the earlier chapter, even if Alpha seemed to be drawn there by accident. Maybe people know perfectly well there's a connection between the robot people and Yokosuka. Perhaps Alpha returns there because she senses the attachment.
The voice could be a suppressed memory.

martialstax:
Oh! I should read the news section more often. Yes, I still have those (I'm slow). I will contact Neil and find out where he is.
