OK, We've done the age/gender survey. Next question:
Where abouts are YKK fans located?
I figure country+state/province/etc is detailed enough!

Not only do we have a good spread across the globe, there are some interesting clumps.
Cases in point: Seattle, Washington and Perth, Western Australia.
Now I can't say too much about Seattle, but Perth is just over 1 million, and the anime community is pretty small. Because of that, I am certain of the identity of one of the other Perth people, and probably know the other as well. Further, it is a fair bet that all three of us we introduced to YKK via the same forum (JAFWA, or known associates, thereof).
Howabout it Seattle-ites? Do you guys know each other? Did you get introduced to it the same way?

> Now I can't say too much about Seattle, but Perth is just over 1 million, and the anime community is pretty small.
JAFWA is still one of the larger anime fan groups in the Southern hemisphere from what I remember. (For a while, it was the largest... but since there's MAD and UWAnime and the advent of digisubs, lost a few members, not to mention anime is a lot more popular now).
> Further, it is a fair bet that all three of us we introduced to YKK via the same forum (JAFWA, or known associates, thereof).
That's a pretty fair bet. It's tough to get new and exciting stuff into the JAFWA program though as compared to the late 90's. We may see some horror theme OAV's or more introspective works like Kino no Tabi with any luck soon...

Seattle itself is about a million and a half in population, but the greater Seattle area is more than 3 million, and with such a large Asia community, anime and manga is quite popular. I don't know any of the other YKK folks here, but I'd love to meet them sometime.

Jim,
I can understand the confusion. We often have the same problem if we head east of Kalgoorlie (in the centre of Western Australia).
The trick, we have found, is to look at the sky during day-time. If it's blue and cloudless, you're in W.A. (or New Mexico). If it's black and cloudless, you're on the Moon. And if it's black and cloud-covered, you're in London!
At night, it's more of a problem. Although if you find yourself eating more than two or three meals before dawn, you're probably on the moon.

Wibble. Five of us from Perth? That sure pushes the stats off to one side.
Actually, looking at things, it seems that if you come from a 1-2Mil sized city, you are more likely to be a YKK fan. I mean we have more people here from any given small city, than most large ones. Three from Moscow, not withstanding. Must be something about YKK that appeals to people with a small-city outlook. Or I might be just pulling stuff out of thin air ^_^
Meantime, Perth fans, you can see me at Genghiscon this weekend. Visit genghiscon.org for details. No YKK on the video program, though, sorry. Even though I did create the program. Hang on! There is the YKK video clip in one of the morning music video segments.

Am I the only YKK fan in Oklahoma. I am in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Recently discovered YKK and I was suprised that I liked it so well. I usually go for the more violent manga and anime. Such as Gunnm, Macross, Bubblegum Crisis, Gunsmith Cats, Ghost in the Shell. I did also like appleseed another introspective anime but still violent. And of course Tank Police.
