Post links to English-language image boards here. To start off, here are the usual suspects:
http://www.iichan.net/ - DEAD DEAD DEAD
http://www.4chan.org/ - The original English-language board.
http://www.0chan.net/w/ - The Switzerland of image boards.
http://www.5chan.net/ - lol furries
Post more, unless they prefer to stay secret.
Does anybody know what happened to the site? Did they change to another address? ):
It had the best high quality images. Anyone know?
For future reference:
This thread is where you post about your fancy new image board.
Don't start useless new threads for every tiny little boards nobody but you and your friends use. If you manage get big enough that people have actually heard of you, you might warrant your own thread. Until then, keep it in here.
>It was also intended for the organization of peaceful protests throughout the world.
Thank god it's dead.
uk only
>>541
Maybe cuz you not in the UK nigga.
(Or maybe it's actually broke.)
Free image board service.
>>545
good luck with that. i doubt anyone really wants a faggotchan, though.
Trevor
Go to bed.
http://operatorchan.org/
my new chan using heavily modded kusaba code
>>549
You mind going a bit deeper and explaining this to me? The only see I see different is the style switcher.
The only see I see different is I see I see different.
Dat sum heavily modded code. Dey gots a stall swishah.
>>550
it now can allow google video, liveleak video, and guba video embedding,
the right side menu has added links and crated a show hide for topmost items.
custom ban system: http://www.operatorchan.org/banned.php
added new news linkbar item and made default
removed manage link
and then there is the minor things that i won't go into detail
>>553
None of that would deem your software "heavily modded."
well it is more heavilly modded then most kusaba based image boards out there.
>>555
I suppose. OperatorChan looks better that the many many other kusaba boards out there.
>crEated a show hide for topmost items
Shame it still doesn't remember what state the items were in next time you load the side menu.
No, if you can't make it do it, it's your fault. If you can't even work with cookies, you're not heavily modding. lol.
And LOL@ Kusaba.
I made better shit out of Futallaby and Shiichan.
still modding code.. gonna streamline new embed codes.
I made a post editor today for the moderation panel.
>>new embed codes.
Youtube embeds, Liveleak embeds, polls, than we'll have a myspace integration plugin, lastfm widgets, google maps embeds, ebay API interaction.
The news generation of imageboards is enar, I just can't wait ^_______^
Way to go...
changed front page to be more like 4chan's front page.
had to change alot of code to do that.
also added statistics and posting rates to side menu.
gonna keep changing stuff and improving.
0chan is dead
Someone get that shit out of here, it's bad enough they exist.
>>576
Apparently, he does not seem to get anything. He seems to think of himself as superior to everyone else and expects everybody to bow down to him.
so what's the average number of invidual boards?
in before over 9000
>>580
Since Kusaba, I'd say around 10. Before then, I'd say 3-5.
Must be why he liked Yoshino so much, they have that much in common.
Just one board for now, working the kinks out of my software.
>>582
Actually, you have much in common with Tahko yourself.
>>582
No, I do not have that much in common. I do not know where you get that imagination in your mind that I actually want to subjugate everyone, but clearly you are deluded.
>>589,592
There's an imageboard on that page? I just saw a bunch of cluttered piled-up stuff I couldn't read.
>>594
1024x600. I have one of those subnotebook things.
I would look for someone with a bigger screen, but really I don't think it's worth it.
>>596
Why are "" not blocked?
>>597
a better question is, why are "valium" and "xanax" not blocked?
only a few horribly broken spambots are going to post stuff like "", while "valium" and "xanax" are very common spam words.
>>598
But what if someone wants to talk about valium or xanax here? Such a restrictive filter would surely interfere with discussion!
>>599
when was the last time you heard anyone talking about valium or xanax outside of spam or discussion about spam?
71chan: perhaps the first board I know of to run two completely different imageboard scripts (Kareha and sparky4's Yotsubanome)
http://71chan.co.cc
> first board I know of to run two completely different imageboard scripts (Kareha and sparky4's Yotsubanome)
they run both scripts on a single imageboard? how does that work?
Some boards are running Kareha, others are running Yosubanome.
>>606
Wait, when did Kareha become shitty? Yotsubanome, that's only temporarily in place, and only because that was the script I used for the temporary board while trying to get Kareha set up. I'll probably only keep /up/ out of the two Yotsubanome boards.
The kareha board is shit because you just jumped straight to maing it a /b/ - Random instead of having some creativity.
The other boards are shit because they are yet another poor translation of the 2chan scripts.
Does nobody take pride in being original anymore?
>>605
oh. just like how on 4chan some boards run a fucked up version of futallaby and some boards run shiitchan.
>>609
Or like on Futaba.
Or hell, iichan. There's at least 4 different board scripts that I can think of on the various iichan boards, and like 196 different hosts.
>>608
I only made it a /b/-Anything Goes because I didn't know how the community was going to develop, or if it would ever even get anywhere (by which I mean "have at least five regular posters discussing stuff"), so I needed a temporary catch-all board. And I can swear to you this: I'm NOT making yet another site with /a/, /k/, and the usual 4chan-style boards.
>>611
If you have nothing on which to base a community, you really shouldn't be starting one. You have to get users from somewhere.
4chan is popular because it had a lot of existing ADTRW posters to "kick start" the board. 7chan is popular because it has a lot of bandisgruntled 4chan posters, and so on. This is why a lot of people on this board are annoyed when people show up and go HEY COME CHECK OUT MY NEW IMAGEBOARD, because no only is it inevitably devoid of any actual creativity, they're always made just to make an imageboard and not because there's actually any sort of community built around it or anything.
>>608
FUCK YOU
THE SCRIPT HAS AN EASTERN BACKGROUND AND
A BUNCH OF CODING IS NOT TOUCHED FROM GAZOU BBS AND FUTABA SCRIPT IS NOT SCREWED UP
I JUST TWEAKED IT
四葉の芽◇チャンネル
Just wants to be like Futaba except international and porn free [to eliminate the 4chan community structure and create an original community]!
the image board script
四葉の芽
is pretty good for being completely Futaba based
also
the Goal of 四葉の芽◇チャンネル is to be an alternative of all the English speaking boards who's community are based on 4chan's structure
and to have connection with Japanese and the Japanese language
(Japanese people do post there)
but I need more of them.
i don't care what language you post in 四葉の芽◇チャンネル
Cue 90% of /soc/ facepalming and yelling "NOT ANOTHER ONE. FUCKDAMN."
8 more features and it will be the most powerful script ever
so what are the other futaba mySQL-free based image board scripts?
http://4chan.b33r.net/sparky4/+4/script/yotsubanome.zip
nobody told me that the downloader was not working properly
anyway here is the direct link to it
http://4chan.b33r.net/sparky4/+4/
四葉の芽◇ちゃんねる
want's to be like futaba except international and porn free
Stop posting multipile posts in a row. It floods everyone else off and is incredibly annoying.
>>623
Can you add his link to spam.txt?
>THE SCRIPT HAS AN EASTERN BACKGROUND AND
OH WOW A BACKGROUND!?!?!?!?? NO WAY!!!
>A BUNCH OF CODING IS NOT TOUCHED FROM GAZOU BBS AND FUTABA SCRIPT IS NOT SCREWED UP
Except if you remember that it was screwed up to begin with
>I JUST TWEAKED IT
>Just wants to be like Futaba except international and porn free [to eliminate the 4chan community structure and create an original community]!
Not possible when you are trying to be 4chan. (it's in your damn url)
You are instantly and permanantly my favourite person.
>>626
I did that to an AOL employee, I ripped through his sales pitch like that.
>>627
You're like me back when I had the energy to do things like that. Now I just smile and nod, and then kill them in their sleep. It's much easier.
> 8 more features and it will be the most powerful script ever
Hardy har har har
