Oh, um, yeah, unexpected... WahaChan is under some amount of construction. Probably will do more in the next few weeks as we have break for a bit. These two sites are my little pet projects, I wrote all the code from scratch; it was pretty fun.
Hmm, looks good, but from what I can tell, it doesn't seem to do anything new... Does it do anything that Wakaba or Futabally doesn't?

What language is this written in? Are you going to release your code?
Also:
Images in "reply mode" in older threads open in the same window instead of a new window when clicked, but in newer threads all images open in new windows.
And at dryfish, clicking on "View All Threads" on any board shows the wetfish links in the menu on the left.

At the moment, no, but that's what I'm working on. The media doesn't work yet, but that's one of the newer things that I am currently working on.
Also, I looked through that validator and just about every error was caused by the various other things that I've added into the website from other sites; the visitor counter, and firefox button, for example.

Yes, I found out about that and fixed the problem, which is why it doesn't happen to newer threads.Once those older pages are updated (read: posted in) then yes, they will be fixed too.

I don't expect to share my code for a little while. At the moment I am still, obviously, trying to iron out the few obvious bugs that show up. Once I finish the last of the major things, such as the media section, I'll probably release the code.

Are any of these english boards spawning interesting cultures and/or memes of their own? or is it mostly swapping (futaba) pics and discussion?
Aside from 4chan and iichan, no. Wtfux had a little something going with the webcam posters, but that was a small, insular community. The rest are just image swapping, usually reposts or parallell posts of the material swapped on the larger boards.
I don't know about 4chan these days. It used to spawn so decent memes, but these days apparently "NO U" is considered the height of hilarity. Even fark.com has funnier memes than that.

The horizontal scrolling is actually really amusing, the problem is that once you scroll east you're basically looking at a blank page. The shorter threads should scroll with you, if that's even possible.
